Website Retainers - Hard Refresh

Our Services/Retainers

Website Retainers

We’re the web partner your marketing team wishes they already had. Strategic, reliable and always thinking ahead.

Get used to hearing “yes and” from your web team.

We know how frustrating it is to bring a strong marketing idea to the table and get met with technical roadblocks. That’s not partnership. That’s friction.

Our monthly retainer is built for predictable marketing budgets and real encouragement from technicians you can trust. We don’t just close tickets. We drive marketing campaigns forward.

If you’re looking for a strategic partner who helps your team move smarter, faster, and with confidence, we’re ready when you are.

This isn’t just maintenance. It’s momentum.

What Does It Feel Like to Work with Hard Refresh?
1
How does onboarding work for a Hard Refresh retainer?

Every retainer begins with a six-month engagement designed to build trust, alignment, and real results. This is a fully scoped and paid phase, not a speculative trial. During onboarding, we:

  • Review your existing website infrastructure, analytics, and brand guidelines
  • Conduct a kickoff strategy session to align on business priorities and upcoming needs
  • Set up shared project systems and assign your point of contact
  • Plan your first 6–8 weeks of work based on priority, urgency, and seasonal goals

By the end of six months, most clients choose to move into a 12-month commitment, where we continue optimizing, building, and refining in partnership.

2
What kind of work is included in the retainer?

Our retainer covers full-service UX and website strategy. That includes:

  • UX/UI design and implementation
  • Front-end development
  • Accessibility and WCAG compliance
  • SEO support and analytics setup
  • Conversion rate optimization (CRO)
  • UX research, surveys, and stakeholder interviews
  • New landing pages and content migrations
  • Strategic alignment with marketing campaigns
  • Monthly performance monitoring and site health reviews

If you're not sure whether something fits, just ask. We scope each retainer based on your real priorities.

3
What’s your typical turnaround time for requests?

Most standard requests are completed within 3 to 5 business days. Rush needs are handled within 24 to 48 hours depending on scope. You'll never have to wonder where something stands — your point person tracks progress and communicates proactively.

4
What happens if we don’t use all our hours in a given month?

Time is averaged across the contract term to allow for flexibility. Some months are lighter, others are heavier — especially during launches or campaign cycles. We work with you to plan strategically and avoid wasted hours. Unused time does not roll over.

5
How do you prioritize our requests?

We set weekly priorities together in your standing call, using a sprint-style planning model. You'll always know what we're working on and where your requests fall in the queue. Urgent items can be elevated outside of this flow as needed.

6
Can you work directly with other teams (designers, devs, legal, etc.)?

Yes. We're often embedded into multi-team workflows, including legal, content, and external vendors. You can loop us in or delegate us as needed — we adapt to your internal rhythm and comms style.

7
Do you offer performance reporting or strategic reviews?

Yes. Each quarter, we review site performance and highlight key wins, areas for improvement, and recommendations tied to business goals. This includes analytics reviews, technical audits, and proactive suggestions for your roadmap.

8
How do you ensure brand consistency?

We start with a deep dive into your brand and digital ecosystem, then document the details that matter: tone, visual identity, preferred components, accessibility standards, and decision-making hierarchies. We also reference your brand guidelines directly and build systems that scale — so consistency is maintained without slowing you down.

9
What industries or client types are you best suited for?

We work best with mid-size to enterprise-level, mission-driven teams — especially those in:

  • Climate tech
  • Ethical fashion
  • Food systems
  • Sustainability and impact orgs
  • Women-led and B Corp-aligned businesses

If your team cares about accessibility, performance, and long-term digital strategy, we’ll likely be a great fit.

10
Who will actually be doing the work?

All work is completed by our senior team and trusted collaborators. We never offshore or subcontract without your knowledge. Your main point of contact will be a project manager or strategist, backed by UX designers, developers, and analysts. You'll always know who’s behind the work.
